Yeah, but still, £2! That's ridiculously cheap. You'd buy one just to put in the kitchen at that price! (Plus a couple of spare so that you can easily replace them once they get caked in grease!)

Surely yahoo must know that there is a time limit for them to restore an ability to get our mail before they start losing customers!! Also, I hope theperson who gave this nightmare to the company is fired. Heads would roll if I owned the company.

Only problem is if you have shared calendars from multiple accounts (as I do for work and personal), you can't sync those shared calendars, only ones you actually own. On the iPhone/iPod Touch there are a couple of PIM apps which sync with Google and allow you to see shared calendars as well. I'll see which one I have installed if I remember!

Using FireBug you can see that Google Reader makes requests for all RSS feeds on the google.com domain. These are set to expire immediately (although you can go to off line with Google Gears enabled).

Requests for images however are made directly to the image URL in the RSS feed. This is normally the same domain as the RSS feed, and will be cached if that web server is sending any max-age or Expires headers.

I don't know of an RSS reader that meets your needs. You could write one ;)

For me, this seems like "making things harder by reducing the complexity of the interface." I.e. the software developers made too many assumptions in order to remove interface elements/etc so as to not confuse users, and in doing so made it so much more complicated.

Though to be honest, I would have plugged it into the ethernet before even trying the WiFi in the first place. I don't trust WiFi.

Thanks for sharing your results with the world, I think you've saved me a few days of work (I have nearly a terrabyte of recordings, so defragmenting those would be a pain... especially with zero results). I also switched to EPG a while back, and this mythfilldatabase trick seems to work!

Thanks again,

Benjie.
