Students in the US are given a task to find 10 bugs in UNIX programs. The results are interesting. I’m certainly going to look over the lecture notes!

Christmas doesn’t seemed to have happened for me yet this year, even though we are half way through Advent.
I finally realised that it’s here this afternoon when Mum and I went to buy the tree. And then I realised that I had my work’s Christmas do on Friday night (some pictures to come – I think), so yet again Christmas has lurked up on me again.
Damn it
Every year I swear that I will be better organised next year; it never happens!
Are spotty, achne-faced teenagers that work in burger restaurants naturally spotty, or is it because the work around the chip fryer all day?
A bit of food for thought!

No thanks, I’d rather walk….
For starters it’s healthier and by the looks of it, I’ll save myself several thousand pounds.
I’m talking about this: http://www .theregister.co.uk/2004/12/09/review_nokia_6670/. Essentially, it’s a 7610 with a decent key pad. I actually hated the look of the 7610, it was just ugly, and the keypad looked disgusting. So, if you are going to need to produce a copy of the same phone with a decent keypad, why not produce like that in the first place!
I used to work in a mobile phone shop. I sold literally hundreds of phones. If someone ever asked me what the best phone was, it was always a Nokia.
But times change, and it seems so has Nokia’s direction. Instead of producing 3 maybe 4 new, and also very decent, handsets a year, they seem to be producing a new one once a month, with small changes between the models, and which don’t seem to meet that standards or the expectations that people used to have from Nokia handsets, simply because they have been rushed out the door.
STOP IT! It’s driving me mad!
As an example, I used to own a 7650, which was fantastic, I couldn’t fault it, it was superb. About 6 months ago, I got a 6600. A step up I thought. No, it’s been more of a step down.
The phone seems to have a real problem with SMS Messages, and with Voicemail notifications. And every so often the Bluetooth stack will crash, or the phone will turn itself off, or…..
When my contract comes up for renewal in May, I’ll be looking at Sony Ericsson, or Siemens. Certainly not Nokia!
When I came into work this morning, I overheard a conversation between the two ladies that work around the corner from me.
One said to the other I can’t decide if I’m felling cold or walmThat would be “normal” then….
…I promise. These should be the last two pieces of the jigsaw!
Having lost a lot of stuff when I lost my hosting, I’ve had to rebuild everything from scratch. The final piece of the jigsaw is my remote blog entry tool.
Hopefully, if you are reading this, then I’ve got that working too!
Back again….
Armswiper’s back….
Tell a friend!
Woohoo! After about a month offline, I’m back and better than ever baby!
Unfortunately the last host I was using got cut off, so now I’m having to pay for hosting, but hey. The worst part about it though is that I’ve lost all of my database entries so have lost everything that was in my blog in the past.
I’ve learnt a few lessons on my way, one is ALWAYS back up your email, and your database contents and it’s structures on a regular basis.
